How to Disable Blink Cameras
Disabling Blink cameras can be necessary for various reasons, such as maintenance, privacy, or conserving battery life. Fortunately, the process is simple and user-friendly. Here’s a step-by-step guide to disabling your Blink cameras temporarily or permanently.
1. Disabling Through the Blink App
The Blink app provides the easiest way to disable cameras:
Open the App: Launch the Blink app on your smartphone or tablet.
Select the Camera: Choose the camera you want to disable from the list.
Toggle Off Motion Detection: Tap the motion detection icon to turn it off. This prevents the camera from recording any activity.
Snooze Notifications: If you want to keep the camera on but avoid alerts, use the “Snooze” feature to silence notifications temporarily.
2. Disabling the Entire System
To disable all cameras in your Blink system:
Go to the Home Screen in the app.
Tap the Armed/Disarmed Toggle. Switching to "Disarmed" mode will deactivate motion detection and recording for all connected cameras.
3. Powering Off the Camera
For a more permanent solution, you can power off the camera:
Remove the Batteries: For wireless models, open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.
Unplug the Camera: For wired models like the Blink Mini, disconnect the power source.
4. Disconnecting from Wi-Fi
Another option is to disconnect the camera from your Wi-Fi network:
Open the app and navigate to the camera’s settings.
Select “Wi-Fi” and disconnect the camera. Without internet access, the camera cannot record or send notifications.

Whether it’s for privacy during gatherings, battery conservation, or maintenance, disabling Blink cameras is straightforward. Use the method that best suits your needs, ensuring a balance between convenience and security. When you're ready to resume surveillance, simply re-enable the cameras through the app or reconnect the power source.
